MANILA, Philippines—Two hotel guests were found dead with gunshot wounds on their bodies inside their room in Malate, Manila, on Tuesday, a report reaching the Manila Police District-Public Information Office on Wednesday showed.
The victims were identified only as Emmanuel Andrew Rey Agudo, 30 to 35 years old, of 124 Rizal Avenue, Nagcarlan, Laguna; and Korean national Kim Ming Jung, 25 to 30 years old.
Police investigation revealed the victims checked in at the Eurotel on Pedro Gil street in Manila on May 23, at 1 p.m. They were billeted at Room 320.
The bodies were found at 12 p.m. on May 24, after hotel management made a call to the victims’ room to remind them to check out.
After receiving no response, the management forced open the door of the room and were shocked to see the victims lying on the bed with gunshot wounds.
Recovered from the scene was one handgun of unknown caliber.
Case investigator Police Officer 3 Alonzo Layugan of the Manila Police District Homicide section revealed that Agudo and the female Korean have been lovers for more than a year. Both studied medical technology at the same university, Layugan said in his spot report.
Their bodies were found naked, each with a gunshot wound on their bodies.
The recovered .25-caliber gun was Agudo’s. Also recovered were Kim’s shoulder bag and cell phone.
